Fishermen’s Commissioner — Runswick Bay (1)
- Richard Cole
Richard Cole continues as the existing commissioner for Runswick Bay, agreeing to stand again in the absence of new nominations.
In accordance with the principles of transparency and good governance, the Commissioners determined that an election should be held for the positions of Fishermen’s Commissioners representing Staithes, notwithstanding that all nominations received were from existing office holders.
While the Staithes Harbour Order 1932 does not require an election to be conducted in circumstances where the number of nominations does not exceed the number of available positions, the decision to proceed with a formal election was made to ensure an open and transparent process and to reaffirm the mandate of those serving as Commissioners.
